TI 2014, Windows 8 Acer Travelmate P253E - Graphic problem
Horrible Problem (W10 unstable) > decided to switch back to an older image.
Booted from my emergency CD Rom created with TI 2014
It boots - but the Graphic is unreadable, simply stripes. Seems my Graphic Card cant work with TI2014 emergency CD.
Crazy: Ican boot the emergency CD on / with my other PC, W7.
Other CD Roms (GParted) boot on the sick PC with an excellent Graphic.
What can I do to play back my image?
Thanx

Thank You. At the moment I seem to be too stupid to find the right moment for changing resolution :-(

You will need to go into the BIOS settings by pressing F2 during the system POST startup when you boot, then look at the options there for the graphics mode settings.
See the Acer Travelmate User Guide - zipped copy of the PDF document from http://www.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

Have you tried following the advice in KB Document https://kb.acronis.com/content/3836 when booting from your Acronis Rescue Media? The document is referencing the Linux media and should still apply to ATIH 2014. You can download a copy of the standard linux bootable media as an ISO file from your Acronis Account, then burn it to a CD if your current media was built for WindowsPE.

F11 does not work (advice in document). Nothing happens.
I downloaded latest ISO, it is the only one on the ti2014 download page, it is all the same in the end.

OK, I have found more information on where you need to set the vga=ask parameter for the Acronis Rescue Media.
This has to be done when you create the Rescue Media as per the ATIH 2014 User Guide
See attached series of screen shots for doing this where I have created an ISO image with the parameter set.

Wow, thank you, looks good. I won't be able to create this CD als the computer has gone mad (thats why I resetted it).
I have an older notebook, Windows 7, 64 bit with I think TI 10. Is there a chance that a rescue-medium created with this might be able to restore one of my TI14 Images?

Unfortunately, it is unlikely that your old TI 10 will recognise and be able to restore any of your ATIH 2014 images - Acronis offer backwards compatibility with some of the archives but not as much forward compatibility.
I guess the only way to test would be to connect your external drive to your old notebook and see if TI 10 can allow you to explore the contents of the TI 14 archive image file? You might want to make a copy to test with just in case the original file gets corrupted - always better to be safe than sorry.

Hi Steve,
I worked for hours now on my W7 PC:
TI 2010 boot cd with vga=ask > doesn't boot.
TI 2016 Trial installed on W7, boot cd created, there was no possibility to write vga=ask. boot cd > sreen cannot be read like before.
TI 2014 installed, boot cd with vga=ask > screen cannot be read.
So i am frustrated an finished with this, acronis doesn't work with Acer notebooks. I'll give the notebook to a professional and spend a lot of money. For the future I will see. Acronis does not seem to be better than freeware programs and ACER will be a no-go.
This is being written on a Dell INSPIRON 9400, formerly W XP, now Lubuntu. This machine is simply running.
Steve, thank you very much for your help.

I am sorry that you are not getting any further with this problem.
The obvious next recommendation that I would offer to you is to create the Windows PE version of the bootable rescue media but this feature is disabled in the Trial version of ATIH 2016 as per https://kb.acronis.com/content/2768, which is a pity as that offers the easiest methods of creating WinPE media.
Please see KB document: 46170: Acronis True Image: Troubleshooting WinPE-Based Bootable Media Creation Issues which has details of doing this for ATIH 2014 but this requires you have the Premium version (which I myself don't have!).
I would suggest getting in touch with Acronis Support directly as this is a Recovery issue if you can't recovery your system and can't use the rescue media.
See document: 18623: How to get Technical Support: Tips, Tricks and Useful Information and in particular, section 5.

Hi Steve,
I contacted support few days ago. We'll see.
Plan at this very moment: remove the harddisk, put it into another PC and restore the image. I could do here but I got only a 32 bit notebook and the acer is 64. This is surely a good thing to create more problems ...
I will give it to a some fellow with a 64 bit pc :-)
Best regards WW

WW, if you can remove the hard disk and take to a different PC, then so long as you have ATIH installed on that second PC, and can access both the drive holding the backup and the drive from the Acer, then it doesn't matter that one is 32-bit and the other 64-bit.
That is purely an OS consideration and given that you are restoring a disk image and writing it as 'raw data' onto the second drive, it is not relevant as that drive isn't being booted from.
