TI Enterprise - Does not show network shares during recovery.

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

We are using Acronis True Image Enterprise edition and have been for some while. Yesterday, we created a new image for our Dell OptiPlex 380's and today we were going to re-image all of the new 380's we got in.

I boot the systems up with the Acronis Enterprise recovery disc and I choose the recovery option. The image we created was stored on one of our NAS's.

In the past, we have had no issue recovering from an image but this time the recovery console will not show ANY of our networks shares at all. Even when I type in the path manually it does not ask me for credentials. It just sits there and does nothing.

When I go to options and look at my NIC settings it shows that there is no NIC installed. However, I know that is untrue of course and I also changed the NIC's settings in the BIOS so that it would be responsive during POST/Hibernation, etc,.

We really need this to work... Why are our shares not showing up? And why can't I access the image when I type in the path manually?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Dave

I have posted this EXACT same issue under another thread re: Optiplex 380s. I have the same problem and really need an answer as well.

Any help?

What version is everyone using? I have been on the phone with tech support and this is supposedly corrected in the new version 10...

Ive checked and double checked. Im using the latest and greatest of Backup and recovery10 build #11345. Can I get a response from the Acronis crew please?

I have been communicating with Acronis Tech Support, via phone and email; I have obatined the newest .isos from them and the problem for me is still unresolved.

I have attempted Snap Deploy latest and greatest too; no luck there either.

Hmmm... wonder if it is time to switch imaging software?

Hello all,

I will do everything possible in order to resolve the issue you experience.

The problem can relate to the network card of the machine or to the card driver shipped with Acronis True Image. First of all I would recommend you to visit Dell web site and download the latest version of the driver for your network card.

Please make sure you are using the latest build of the product. See Downloading the Latest Build of Acronis Software.

If at least one computer is visible in Computers near me on the Image Archive Selection screen, then try specifying the full UNC path to the desired computer in the "File name" edit box, e.g. \\server\share.

If no computers are visible on the network, but the Computers near me icon is found under My Computer, then please ensure that a DHCP server is running on your network. If you do not use a DHCP server, then please enable network connection, specify network settings manually in the window, available at Tools -> Options -> Network adapters.

If the Computers near me icon is not available under My Computer, then there could be problems either with your network card or with the card driver shipped with Acronis True Image.

In case the issue still persists and you are using PCI/PCMCIA network card (note that only PCI/PCMCIA network cards are supported) then the following procedure should be used to investigate the issue. First create a new support case using the following link and provide the following information:

1) Linux sysinfo. Check the following KB article for step-by-step instructions. For Acronis Backup & Recovery 10 Build 11345 and higher you can use Tools -> Collect system information menu.

2) Exact model and vendor of the NIC.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Thank you.
