TI Enterprise Restore Rescue CD Hangs at First GUI Menu

Thread needs solution

TI 9.5, (build 8,076).

Same hardware as the backup: HP Proliant ML 150 G3.

CD boots OK, but system hangs as soon as I move the mouse or press key at the first menu. I know the CD is OK since I have used it to do other restores on different hardware without issue. I have tried this several times with the same result.

The only non-standard device in the system is an Intel PRO/1000 GT Desktop Adapter. There are two external USB drives, one of which contains the image I wish to restore.

What do you recommend to start resolving this, please?

F11 has no effect at this menu (the first one after Linux starts: select various restore options or Windows). I can cycle NumLock on or off indefinitely but cursor keys do not move selection focus. I can move the mouse once for a short distance then everything locks up: keyboard and mouse no longer function (inlcuding NumLock). ML150 G3 has all latest BIOS and firmware loaded. Mouse and keyboard are PS-2 not USB. I have since removed external USB drives and the Intel PRO/100 GT adapter and still no joy. Why does TI hate my server? Why is it so quiet in here? Why don't I try another product?

Server has SAS drives connected to LSI SAS 3000 series. Surely Universal Restore has driver for this?

Hello William,

Thank you for using Acronis Products

Please download ISO image from your account under Registered Products and create Acronis bootable disc using third-party software. ISO image is based on different loader which has more embedded drivers, it will certainly solve the issue you experience. If not please let us know.

Hi Dmitry,

Thanks for your reply. There is some confusion in my Acronis account. I have only got download facility for Acronis True Image 11 Home. The Enterprise version I have used for the server backup was part of a NFR license I got from my distributor for internal/evaluation purposes. It does not look as though these are registerable and therefore they appear to be unsupported. I am considering becoming a reseller but would like to be sure that Acronis is the best way for my clients to go.

So I will not be able to get the ISO image :(
