TI fails to open image-file

Thread needs solution

Good evening,

as a user of TI 2010, who has payed for the software, I would kindly ask the service of Acronis for support!

I have a brand new installation of Windows 7 Professionel N. First harddrive is Kingston SSDnow V Series 64 GB, the second Drive a Samsung 1000GB. On the latter I stored the image I made from the Kingston, where Windows 7 is installed.

I made a regular backup of the entire Kingston. When I try to recover I get the information that TI is unable to open the image-file ("Error occured while opening the file")! No event ID, nothing else!

May I please get your support?

Martin

@ Acronis Support,

Alexander, Dmitry, Oleg, you are moderators and I hope I will get your advice! Why does TI refuses to open the image-file? My installation of Windows 7 64-bit was a brand new on a virgine SSD Kingston! I had validated the images and nothing was corrupt! If I can't rely on that the image-file is restored, or that the problem will be solved with your help, I will get back my money I payed for TI 2010!

Is there anybody else in this forum, who has encountered similar problems?

Martin

Hi everybody,

after the third brand- new Installation of Windows 7 P Professionel -N- 64-bit, I gave TI 2010 another try. I started a new backup - and got the same result when TI rebooted and tried to open the image-file:" Error occured while opening the file".

1) Backup- medium: Kingston SSDnow V Series 64 GB, active, system-partition
2) Restore- medium: Samsung HE 103UJ 1000 GB, no Raid, AHCI
3) Intel DP55SB Mainboard
4) Intel Core i5 250 @ 2.67 GHz
5) Kingston ValueRAM DIMM 4 GB DDR3-1333 Kit

Hi, I got the same problem, pluse my pc freezes, so the only thing I can do is to restart. Very disappointing that the first time u need to use your back up it doesn't work....
My back up is on a usb hard drive, could it be a problem?

Hello Rasemuck and Andrea,

I'm really sorry for the delay with the response and for the difficulties you've experienced.

Let me help you with the issue.

First of all, I mat recommend you to validate the image you've created to make sure that it is intact and not corrupted. Please have a look at the Chapter 19.1 of the User's Guide on how to do that.

Secondly, if the backup archive is not corrupted, I suggest you to try to restore using Acronis Bootable Media. With that media all operations are available like in Windows. Please follow the instructions from the Chapter 15 of the User's Guide on how to create a bootable media with Acronis software.

Please reply to this thread if the issue still persists, I'll be glad to assist you further.

Thank you.
