TI Home 2010 - Do I have to install it?
This may seem like an absurd question, but I really don't need all the fancy features that come with TIH2010. I don't need the hidden partition and changes to my boot sector, continuous backups, incremental backups etc.
I want to boot from the program CD, create disk images of my 2 internal drives on to a networked NAS (ReadyNAS Duo). I plan to do that every once in a while.
In the event of a disaster, I want to restore the image thus created.
Do I even have to load the software on to my XP Pro PC?
How do I ensure that I keep up with any updates to the software and create a functional boot disk like the original program disc without installing the software?
Thanks
Aloke Prasad
PS: I am used to the old Ghost versions before it became bloatware. I bought TIH2010 to be able to use my NAS as a image backup destination. I don't want much else.
