TI Home 2010 & Vista w/no SP yet?

Thread needs solution

Two year old Acer laptop running Vista Home Premium. Just installed a new harddrive on it, used Acer recovery discs to load the new harddrive to the way the original was at "factory condition". So it doesn't have SP1 or SP2 yet.

I installed the trial version of TI Home 2010 and successfully created a Secure Zone and made and verified an image. My plan was to buy it, then use it to create new images before/after taking SP1 and SP2 in case something goes wrong with those big changes.
However, when I went purchase it I noticed the System Requirements only mention Vista SP2.

Does this mean the image I already made (and the future images I planned on making before getting back up to SP2) won't be reliable?

Do I need to buy an old version of Acronis, make my images, then after getting to SP2, pay to upgrade to 2010?

Thanks,

Hello Riccol,

Thank you for a good question, I suppose you were not the only person who was confused. When you check the web site or look in user guide the list of the supported operating systems you can see the following:

Acronis True Image Home 2010 supported OS

  • Windows XP SP3
  • Windows XP Professional x64 Edition
  • Windows Vista SP2 (all editions)
  • Windows 7 (all editions)

Windows Vista SP2 support include Windows Vista without SP and Windows Vista SP1. Windows XP SP3 include Windows XP, SP2 and SP1.

I will create a special CLS (customer listening system) request to make the list of supported OS with SP more clear.

Let me know if you have further questions and I will be glad to answer them.

Thank you.
