TI10 can't see newly restored volume

Thread needs solution

I had an HDD failure over the weekend. I bought a replacement drive (WD USB like the one it replaced albeit a different model) and restored my data just fine. So far so good.

Unfortunately TI10 refuses to acknowledge that the drive exists and won't back it up. If I go to the 'Arconis Backup' tab for E: it shows all the backups I could restore but I can't select the drive to backup with TI10 itself. The existing backup schedule fails with 'Cannot find source partition with path '\local\hd_sign(00097E5C)\part_sn(F061D6D196F061F0)start(2048'

I've generated a report and there is no volume with that signature present (hardly a surprise). What magical incantation is required to get TI10 to accept that drive E: exists?

Thanks.

Hmmm. Looks like it's a problem with the drive going to sleep. I'll have to investigate further. It was visible in My Computer but double clicking it showed it was empty. I had to unplug and replug to get the data to appear :-/

A first place to start would be inside the Device Manager.
Open the listing for Universal Serial Bus
There will be several usb Root Hub listed.
Open each one and click on look at the properties.
Uncheck the listing for "Allow the computer to turn off, etc...."

or if all else fails, check out item #9 at this link.
