TI2010:5055 programming 'Thread ' loop error causes TI to lockup.
I would be interested to know from those who have the later build(s) if they encounter the same problem. I intend to upgrade when the next build comes out.
OS: Win7 RTM Ult 64 bit.
Scenario: The TI scheduler has confused itself and thinks that a consolidation file requires either disk 1 or disk 2 to be found. It is possibly looking for part of an archive that has been deleted via the database. (This is the cause of the problem I'm reporting, but has nothing to do with the actual bug)
Problem 1. The task bar icon reports an I/O error. Right click and choose STATUS - GUI is instantiated. Error message appears looking for Disk X -. Programming oversight - there is no way to know which task or archive this is refering to if you have multi tasks/schedules - as the message boxes are Modal forms, one cannot access the task or log contained in the Main form.
Problem 2. The most serious. Clicking the CANCEL button in the - BROWSE, RETRY, CANCEL message box, causes TI to loop back to trying to continue the task, which of course fails. For every click on cancel if emails notification is enabled two emails are sent - Choosing CANCEL from the system tray monitor icon is ignored. The only way to cancel the operation is to kill the task in Windows Task Manager - this requires at least two attempts.
The GUI will close, however the systray icon now changes to a no entry type sign and the drive to which the image is pointed is still locked to TI (in other words, if a USB drive, it cannot be ejected from the system) The systray icon will not allow itself to be cancelled or exited. ALL TI tasks have to be killed in Task Manager before the destination drive is unlocked and TI finally exits.
