TI2010_6029: Missing Options in Backup Wizard "Upon Event": User logoff and System shutdown
Hi there at TI Forum,
I work on Windows 7 Enterprise (64 bit) with TrueImage 2010 Build 6029 and I am new on TrueImage.
I just had a look in the TrueImage 2010 user manual, p. 113 where a screenshot of the backup wizard is shown, preparing a backup task "upon event". There I find 4 options "System startup, System shutdown, User logoff, User logon". On my computer from my Administrator account, I just can find two options "System startup, User logon" (see attachment).
Where are the two other otions gone, supposed to be there? Am I alone with this issue? If not, does anyone have a hint on this? I am somewhat confused...
Thanks in advance.

Acronis removed those two options for windows 7 after the beta stage. They could not get it to work right due to the changes in Windows 7. I got a beta copy and can confirm that those options did not work properly in Windows 7. So those two options are no longer available for Windows 7 although they are still present for Windows XP which is why they are still in the manual.

If you want the system to shutdown after a backup, consider using Chain2Gen found in my signature index. or another possibility is the next link.

I have a version of TIH 2010 build 5055 has System Shutdown option with Upon Event. But the latest version I purchased buid 6053 does not. How do I get it as I want it for Windows Vista Home Premium machine?

You can't - they were disabled for Vista and W'7 because the don't work in them. You can however place shutdown in post-backup command to shutdown after backup completion.

Hello all,
Let me help you.
I may recommend you to use GroverH's workaround (post-command) from this forum post:
Use the Post edit/browse option or
1. Command should read
%windir%\system32\shutdown.exe
2. Working directory should read (include the last backward slash)
%windir%\system32\
or if your path might be
C:\Windows\System32\
3. Argument can be a variety of settings. Instead of using just "-s", try this a and include it all:
Argument:
-t 300 -f -s -c "SHUTDOWN in countdown. TO CANCEL the shutdown. Click START RUN and type SHUTDOWN -A
This works just fine in XP Pro but you may have to add some quotation marks or path changes if required by your system. For more information about the command options available for the shutdown command, open a command prompt window and at the prompt, type SHUTDOWN /? (and press Enter)
Please reply to this thread if you have amy further questions.
Thank you.

Can't get it to work? Dam, it sounds like a great feature. I see the work around in a later message but that's not for beginners. I hope they can solve it out.
