TI2013 repeated backup failure

Thread needs solution

I am receiving repeated back up failure using TI2013 (build 6514) with an
Lenovo Thinkpad X201 (3249CTO)
Crucial M4-CT512M4SSD2

Here is the error I get
Failed to read data from the disk.
Failed to read from sector '57,429,5584' of hard disk '1'.
Failed to read the snapshot. (0x10C45A)
CRC error (0x100155)

I did not see anything regarding this error for TI2013

Any help would be appreciated.

Run chkdsk /r on that drive.

Also run a drive checking utility from the drive manufacturer, as those sometimes catch errors missed by chkdsk.

Timothy,

In order to help with identifying which partition on the disk contains the (possible) error, try and back up one partition on the disk at a time.

I've seen some issues with OEM partitions that had these types of issues but the System Reserved and OS partitions were okay.

Hi Thanks,

I experienced a gradual slow down and then eventual fail to boot beyond the W7 start screen with my crucial M4 SSD - from my reading, this is not uncommon. As a result, I removed the drive and connected it to another W7 computer where i was able to access it but not back it up (I tried several programs).

I ran chkdsk /r and it had many orphaned files, bad clusters, etc. I then ran sfc /scannow, which also found additional problems.

Once back in the original laptop, I was able to boot, and see my files, but any attempt to clone, back-up produced the error above.

I ran chkdsk /r again,
rolled back the ahci driver (per crucial)
let it sit powered in the BIOS screen to let garbage collection do its thing
made a bootable WinPE version (same error).
I've tried a few different USB hard drives as back-up (same error)

Most recently in Acronis Disk Editor, I found red question marks (can't be good) filling sectors 57,429,584 - 57,429,600; is this something that might be fixable? Thanks
