.tib into a Virtual Machine?

Thread needs solution

Hi Guys,
I use this version of Acronis:
True Image 2013 by Acronis Standard

Normally, I do my backups via the boot-CD. Works fine, I like this product very much. But sometimes, I need to "look" into my old system. Recovery is to much work, I think a virtual machine is the best thing.

What I've to do? How can I mount a .tib-File?

Thank you very much.

Michael,

If you have made either a full disk or single partition image of your machine, just open True Image, click on the Utilities tab and select Mount. alternatively if you have integrated TI into windows, just right click on the tib file and select Mount.

If though, you have made only a files and folders backup, these can only be explored, however the result is the same, you will be able to look into the tib file.

It is possible to convert the tib file to an actual VHD which can also be mounted if using Vista and beyond, for XP you would have to be running VirtualPC from Microsoft.
