TIH 2010 7160 cannot find any hard drives
Windows 7 x64 fully updated
Brand new computer
i7 2600 processor
8 GB RAM
When I boot from the new rescue disc for TIH 2010 Build 7160, TIH says it cannot find any hard drive. The same thing happened with TIH 2010 Build 7046.
I was able to back up several disk images to my external hard drive just fine. TIH just can't see my hard drive when I attempt to restore one of those images.
Thanks,
Tim

I tried the alternate Rescue disc but still got the same message: Acronis True Image Home has not found any hard disk drive.
My ASUS computer is only 2 days old and has a hidden Factory Recovery partition that is installed at the beginning of the hard drive instead of the end. Could that be causing the problem?
It seems strange because Win 7 x64 has no problem "seeing" the hard drive. I have never had a failure of Acronis like this; it has always been a super performer.
Thanks,
Tim

Hi Tim!
I had a similar problem with my Asus p8p67 motherboard and 2500k combination. Both the Rescue Media and Bootable Media failed, I think, due to Linux drivers not yet up-to-speed with the newer chipset.
The problem was solved for me by building a WinPE DVD with both TI2010H-v7160 and DD11H-v2121 included.
The forum post shown here: http://forum.acronis.com/forum/19714 was successful for me.
There are a couple of methods shown in that post, and they both worked.
Hope this helps.

Tim,
The WinPE is a good solution but you need the PlusPack option. One more thing you might try is to return to your registration page and download the "Safe" version which uses the Dos drivers. You will need to install the download and create a new CD to include this option.

Problem solved!
Thanks to all of you for your quick and kind help. I did what you suggested and downloaded the trial version TIH 2011. I booted from the Rescue Disc and Acronis found my hard drive without a hitch. I created a disk image of the C: drive and that succeeded; whether I could recover it with the trial version or not, I don't know. But I could try that, too.
Anyway, thanks to all for your help.

If the trial Rescue CD sees your drives, you should not have any trouble restoring. At the very least, try restoring a couple files to a new location as part of your testing.
