TIH 2011 - Can't specify From email address

Thread needs solution

I've got an issue with email notifications from TIH 2011, as it won't allow me to specify the "From" email address. It appears to just autogenerate the "From" address by dropping the left-most part of the hostname (theoretically leaving just the domain name", and placing "@" in front of it.

So, if I use "mail.lewpy.com" as the SMTP server, it will use "@lewpy.com" as the "From" address.

Or if I use "192.168.1.1" as the SMTP server, it will use "@168.1.1" as the "From" address (which is technically wrong, but hey).

Both of these are rejected, as there is no username in the "From" address :-(

MAIL FROM: <@168.0.22>

501 5.1.7 Invalid address

Is there a way to actually specify the "From" email address in the notification?

Thanks.

Which build are you using?

What OS?

I haven't seen this problem with build 5519, downloading 6574 at this moment.

I've tried, but I can not replicate either of your problems.

Are you using any encryption at all?

No encryption.
The only difference to your snapshot: I do not have a user and password to use the mailserver.

Rudi

That is it!
You have to set username and password! Even if the mailserver do not need it.
Crazy.

Yes, I was about to say - TI likes passwords and user names.

Unfortunately I experienced the same issue (after upgrading to 6574).
For my mailserver I don't need a username/password.

I tried both with and without name/password but regardless what I put in, I get the error message.
