TIH 2011 - PC going into 'zombie-like' state for 30 mins at the end of each backup!

Thread needs solution

Just logging another support case with Acronis, as follows:

"I have another more serious problem now with normal backups - feel free to create a new support case for this if you want.

Over the last week, when True Image has got to the very end of each scheduled backup, it has completely locked up my PC during the time it was trying to save the partition structure - for about half an hour! What I mean by 'locked up' is that the PC basically goes into a zombie-like state and the only thing still functioning is the clock - you can't use any programs and Explorer and the Start Menu just stop working. You can't even bring up Task Manager by using Ctrl-Alt-Del - nothing happens!

I'm attaching the relevant log files, but just take last night's backup as an example:

Everything was OK with my PC until 21:29 when TI tried to save the partition structure and produced the error message you can see above. I've configured my (full) backups to overwrite the previous one, but it's only doing this after the new backup has completely successfully. Problem seems to be that it's not able to overwrite the previous backup file for some reason!

So from 21:29 until 22:00, my PC was COMPLETELY unusable - not good at all! At 22:00, everything came back to life again and everything I'd tried clicking on during that period sprung to life too.

The same thing happened numerous times over the last week:

Sunday 19/09 - locked up from 13:48 to 14:54
Wednesday 22/09 - locked up at 21:27 - pressed reset button as PC seemed to have crashed
Wednesday 22/09 - locked up at 23:04 - had to hard power off as it was time for bed!

I'm sure you'll agree this is a very serious issue, and hope you will ask your developers to investigate and provide a fix as a matter of urgency!"

Anyone else getting this issue?!!?

Cheers
Steven

Mine just stops 3 or 4 times during the backup for more than a full minute, then starts up again. During that time there is no activity from either the sending or receiving drive. A bit frightening, but the backup seems o be ok; it does validate.

My backups have been taking 2-3 times longer after my free upgrade to 2011 (NSB issues!). There's a problem with the SnapAPI low-level drivers which is causing my PC to lock up completely after every backup for between 30-60 minutes. Acronis have provided me with a new build of the drivers (3.10.571) but the issue still remains so they now want me to enable logging on the drivers and send them the log files - not good :-(

My backups are also noticeably slower with 2011 than 2010. When I try to change the Non-stop backup settings the program locks
up. Only end task from task mgr will shut it down. Same thing when I try to edit backup settings from running n-s backup in tray
I guess it's back to 2010 til Acronis finishes beta testing.
