TIH 2012 ISO

Thread needs solution

I bought 2012 + PP a while ago because the price was so cheap. I am still using 2011 and have been waiting to instal 2012 until more people were generally happy with it but i still dare not do that because of all the threads here. However, if I create the 2012+PP ISO and use only that, will I be safe using it if I never try to run 2012 from Windows?

TIA

Absolutely. Booting from the bootable Recovery Media, either on CD-R or USB flash drive, is independent of anything in Windows. It will not install the Windows application, and will not alter Windows.

In fact, I'm in the same situation. I have not yet installed the 2012 Windows application, as I'm hoping there will be a future update with further bug fixes. I have an older ATIH version installed on some computers, and on my newest laptop I use the bootable Recovery Media.

Norman,
The CD is a great way to make a backup if you do not need scheduling.

Just be sure when you make your backups, at least some of them are made with the Disk checkmarked so all partitions are included in the backup. Having a backup with all partitions makes the creation of a replacement disk so much easier. Most Win 7 retail installation has a separate non-lettered boot partition and this needs to be a part of your backup.
