TIH2011 Backup filename problem

Thread needs solution

Hi.

I have been using TIH2011 since the first build, and now ... with the new build update I get the same problems.

I setup two backups names: SISTEMA and DATOSD.

The firts one, SISTEMA, backup System Partition, C: and E: and the name of the backup is SISTEMA, SISTEMA(1), etc....

But with DATOSD, who backup only D: partition I get: ), )(1), etc.... If I check the filename I can see in TIH DATOSD, but in the filesystem the name is )

I use Windows 7 64 bits.

Could you help me with this situation?

Thanks.

Hi,

I'm facing not exactly the same problem, but somethingin the same area:

The file names that are messed up all the time. In previous versions I made an image like “weekly.tib”. From time to time I renamed it to something like “Wotan 2010-08-15.tib” when I wanted to preserve a special state. Doing an image next time, TIH generated again a file like “weekly.tib”. With TIH 2011 this doesn't work anymore:

1) Renaming a .tib file an generating an image again produces a file like “weekly” with an incredible long key behind it + .tib.
2) Even making a copy of “weekly.tib” an renaming it to “Wotan 2010-08-15.tib” produce this effect, although I didn't touch “weekly.tib”.

In other occasions I had also file names with (2), (3) and so on. When I look in TIH - the file name is defined as "weekly". The only thing that helps is deleting the backup from the list and defining a new backup from scratch.

I, and many others, have had extensive correspondence with Acronis on this very subject. It is beyond belief that this issue wasn't resolved in the latest (pulled) update! I have gone back to TI 2010 and, unless this issue is resolved in the next update, I will be returning to Ghost (or similar) - which I left many years ago. Acronis Beta testing and QA have stumbled badly with TI 2011.
