TIH2012 Rescue Media Features and Keyboard layout

Thread needs solution

There are two issues/questions.

Issue 1:
When creating a rescue media iso, it seems that you can only specify keyboard layout on non-english versions of TIH. I am using Swedish keyboard but Windows is running English.
Is there another way to configure this parameter?

Issue 2:
Why is the backup scheme selection on rescue media different to the version installed on system?
I am of course referring to Version Chain Scheme.
My concern is that since the backup schemes are different between Windows and Rescue Media and if I configure backup from within Windows environment with Version chain scheme, will I be able to restore the file from rescue media?

I don't know about the keyboard issue.

The backup scheme is relevant to the way the backup archives are chained together and retained. If you have an existing backup on the disk that is not tracked by the Internal ATI database, the Windows version will basically ignore it, and if you use the same name, you will end up with possible database confusion.
Vice versa, if you execute a backup from the recovery CD, ATI on the CD can allow to build upon an existing backup and will create an incremental backup. I think, but I am not sure, that it will also update the ATI database on the disk, but I don't know what the Windows version will make of an incremental inserted in a chain of differentials.

So to avoid confusion, you should separate the backups chains. In one directory, the backups you do from the recovery CD, in another one the backups you do from Windows.

Regardless of the backup scheme done in Windows, the backups can be recovered on the CD.
