Timeout accessing recovery backup over network?
Hi,
I use a WinPE USB to run acronis for recovery of my computers and have my acronis backups stored on a NAS.
I have an Asus Zenbook that uses a USB 2.0 Ethernet dongle (100MBit only).
Backup from the notebook to the NAS is fine.
Recovery seems to lock up or become unresponsive at the point where I am selecting drives/partitions to restore (the list with tick boxes). It just freezes there for a few minutes and then I can tick boxes but each step past that point the program is so slow as to be unresponsive and unmanageable. Mouse pointer moves fine bt clicking anywhere does nothing.
I tried the Acronis built WinPE and also Mustangs WinPE build. Both react the same.
As a test I placed the backup tib on a USB HDD connected directly and Acronis ran smoothly with no locking up or laggy behaviour.
Given that the drive is on the USB as well I do not think it's a USB driver issue (unless specific to the LAN but it worked ok for the backup).
Has anyone else had this experience? From my desktop I have used the USB to recover a disk image over network using a Gigabit connection and had no issues.
If I can work it out so that I can recover directly from my NAS I would be much happier :).

Thanks for the thoughts.
I'm using a synology NAS and the backup files are not in the root directory of the share.
I don't access files through the "NAS" folder on Acronis but by mounting the share as a drive with the "NET" command.
I have no public or guest folders at all.
As mentioned it works just fine accessing it from my desktop. I don't have a USB 3 gigabit ethernet adapter to try out but suspect this is where the issue lies.
Wasn't sure if there is a command line option or some such to stop it timing out while it performs whatever examination of the backup file it needs to prior to allowing me to select the specific partitions/drive I want.
