Too Many Activations on Second PC?
I've used ATI Home for several versions now and like it. I recently bought the package where I could upgrade 2011 to 2012 on one PC and get another full 2012 version for a second PC. I received two serial numbers, one for the upgrade and one for the new full version.
The upgrade went just fine but the full version on the second PC installed OK but I got a message at the bottom saying too many activations please resolve. I click and there's two choices: enter a new serial number or deactivate the one PC and activate it on this new one. I again entered the new serial number I received but the message didn't go away.
I finally went on chat (because I'd be charged for a phone call--what's that all about?) and after explaining the problem several times was given a link to the removal tool. I uninstalled 2012, downloaded it again and re-installed. It looked to be fine but now today the message is back.
The program seems to work as my scheduled backups have occurred but I'm concerned at some point it'll stop working.
I'm on Win 7 64bit and made sure the serial numbers were applied properly.
Any ideas on what I should do?
Thanks

Hello Tom and Grover,
Thank you for your posts and thank you very much for helping Grover.
Tom, I will definitely help you with resolving this issue.
I will follow-up with a private message because the serial number information is confidential and cannot be posted publicly.
Please let me know if you have additional questions.
Thank you.

Hi,
I am getting the "Too many activations for one serial number" message, after upgrading my work pc. I uninstalled from the old pc and installed on the new, but I still get the error. I have attempted all possibilities regarding resolving the problem, but still the message persists.
Can you please help? (I tried the direct contact via private message, but it complained of no recipient and there was no place to enter this).
Kind regards,
David Griffiths

David,
What happens when you attempt to transfer the install to the new computer. We may be able to tailor these instructions better if we knew what version you were attempting to move.
If the new computer is connected to the Internet
Install Acronis True Image on new machine. Go to Help -> Activate:
In the prompt that appears ("Too many activations") select Move license:
You will be forwarded to Acronis Activation website. Submit your login and password for your Acronis account (if you don’t have an account, click Create account to create it):
Choose computer from which you’d like to move your license (a list will be displayed):
(!) The product will be deactivated on the selected computer.
Restart the product on your new computer to apply changes.

Hi there,
Thanks for the prompt reply. I am using Acronis True Image 2014. When I hit Help -> Activate, I get the "Too many activations for one serial number" dialogue.
I choose "I have installed True Image on a new computer", then "Move license from another computer". I get the options "Submit credentials of another account", which if I enter my user details, I get "The login or password you entered is incorrect, please, try again". If I select "Activate with another serial number", I try my serial number, along with previous version (11) serial number, and then get "Activation complete".
I click "Back to True Image", restart... the message is now gone. I did the same yesterday and the message returned later in the day, but perhaps I had signed out or something.
This seems slightly different to the solution you described (I, at no point, get directed to the Acronis web site) but the same end result.
I will report back if I get the message back again.
Thank you once again for your assistance.

Hi there again,
This morning, after rebooting my pc, I got the message again. I could try the same as before, but thought I would ask here first.
Please advise what to do.
Thank you
