Trans fer to new HD

Thread needs solution

I need to transfer my old hard drive to a new WD 500Gig HD only.I want to keep all my programs and OS and will not need all the backup utilities that come with a full version. Due to a very tight budget can I use a older version of Acronis without all the latest and greatest utilities to save some money? If so what would be the one I need to make the transfer? I already have back up software and 2 external HD.
Thank you, wall-e

Thank you, I have tried downloadig thar version and after 3 attemps they all finish downloading and are verified and I get this message of " sorry but Acronis has encountered a problem and needs to close, sorry for the incoveience" It is very frustrating for you see I am stuck with dial-up and after approx. 30 hours of downloading with no results do I need to say anymore? Any other suggestions? I'm all ears.

When I was in your shoes using dialup 56K, whenever I had a large download, I would go the local library or a friend's house and do my large downloads. You get get a flash drive 4GB flash drive for just a very few dollars and that works well for carrying the downloads.
