Transfer Email Settings from WinXP to Win7

Thread needs solution

I'm using Ti 2010 and Outlook 2007. I'm upgrading soon to Win7. Can I backup my Outlook email settings (Just the user settings) and then restore them in Win7?

Probably, assuming that Outlook 2007 works in Windows 7. Find out where Outlook stores user settings, and backup and restore those files (e.g. .PST file).

Note that storage location may be different. For example, XP stores a lot of user settings in a user settings folder, while Win7 uses each user's hidden AppData\Roaming\ folder.

Thanks. Copying the .pst files is not really a problem, just worried about the account settings - email addresses and passwords. I've never really been able to find out where Outlook stores these. And yes, Outlook 2007 does work very well in Win7.

If you can't find the files, then obviously you can't transfer them. Check some of the MS Outlook web resources, or post in one of their forums.

You can also transfer you user settings and data from your Windows XP to your Windows 7 system using Microsoft's Easy Transfer application (built in to Windows 7, but must be downloaded and installed into Windows XP).
