Transfer a license from old computer to a new one

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I have installed True Image 2014 on my old computer. Now the computer will be abandoned and I will use a new one as a replacement. How to deactivate the license on the old computer and reactivate it on the new one?

Thanks

This link can help with the licensing.

Note that 2014 does not support Windows 10 so you will need to upgrade to 2016.
The 2014 can still be used as a reference for upgrade version if you wish to buy the upgrade version rather than the full version.

Hi,

Thank you. I just check the license info and find the following statements:

"A single license is required for installation on a single machine; such license is non-transferable and non-assignable, except in limited circumstances. The limited circumstances include where the original machine the Software license was deployed on: (i) becomes non-functioning or obsolete; and (ii) is taken out of service. In such cases, the license is transferable to a replacement machine."

Since my old computer will be abandoned. I can transfer the license based on the above policy. But they do not provide a way to transfer it. I try to contact the support but cannot find a support corresponding to my True Image 2014. All supports are for newer versions.

how to proceed?

The screenshots below demonstrate how to transfer the license to a new computer.

If you have issues transferring the license, you can contact Acronis support with the link below. Select Customer care in the first drop down menu and then select Product Activation Issues in the next drop down menu to activate the Live Chat and Email options.

Hi,

Thank you for your answer. I have also submitted a request to Acronis but your answer is enough for me. Just curious if I just replace a HD, will I be able to activate with the new HD or must I transfer the license as well? Also can the transfer be performed offline?

I have the same doubts

Acronis True Image is activated based on the computer hardware signature which is essentially a combination of the motherboard, CPU, LAN adapter MAC address, not the internal HDD or SSD drive.  Replacing the HDD does not affect ATIH activation.
