This is a trial version of True Image

Thread needs solution

I'm disgusted. Ive been working with apps and utilities since DOS 4.0. I retired as an IT technician just before Win 7 was deployed. I’ve never had so much trouble with a utility as ATI. Years ago I upgraded Seagate Disc Wizard to ATI 2013. That was fine until I rebuilt my machine and had to reload it. Nothing I did would fix the registration serial number. Acronis is focused on controlling license not supporting the people who buy their product. I hoped upgrading to ATI 2015 would resolve the registration issue. It took enormous time with the help desk to get operational. It was like working with my hands tied behind my back. I never did get a disk imaged. I had to rebuild my system again a couple weeks ago. ATI 2015 Upgrade (registration serial number again) was hopelessly broke. OK, I broke down and bought 3 seats of ATI 2015 (build 6525) not the upgrade. Did that fix anything? No. I downloaded Win ADK 8.1 and built an ATI PE 2015 boot as the 1st test. When I tried to create an image of my primary drive it popped a dialog box, ”This is a trial version of True Image. I hate this!
Why! I bet no refunds are available either. Trust, I rant when I've been screwed.

The recovery CD of the trial version has limited functionality. Make sure you create it after you have fully registered your software. You can also verify your software licenses on Acronis.com (there is a link to download your software licenses), and you can download corresponding ISOs there as well.

Other than that, your best bet is to contact Acronis support.

Hi Elton,

sorry for the delayed answer.

First of all please make sure that your program version is activated as it is described here. Let me know if you need any assistance in activation.

As for refund policy, if you purchased software on our website, you can request a refund for home product within 30 days after purchase.

Thank you.

I have True Image Home 2015, as an upgrade to an earlier version. My Acronis account shows the product so I feel it must be activated.

So, I created a CD with Rescue Media and Universal Restore on it. Then when I boot a computer from this CD and attempt to do a backup, right when I click Proceed, I get a box popping up saying "This is a trial version of True Image. The selected operations cannot be performed...."

I have made the disk twice with the same result. What am I doing wrong?

Is the Universal Restore feature (which I need) what is hanging up the process? Is that a separate module that has to be downloaded and installed separately? I saw something to this effect on the Acronis website, but I don't recall downloading anything other than ATIB itself. Of course my window for downloading Universal Restore, if indeed it is a separate module, has passed.

Help!

Hi Tom,

If you are creating bootable media with a trial version, the resulting bootable media will be a trial as well.  Check your ACronis product information in the application to see it shows successfully registered or not.  Altneratively, when you log into your Acronis account online and click on "my products" you'll see downloads for your software and you can get your license keys.  Under your products, if 2015 is listed, you can download an .ISO of the recovery media from there that will already be licensed/registered.  Use that instead of whatever other .iso you're currently using.

I upgraded to ATIH2016 and repeated the same process, and this time it worked and created a rescue media that backed up the computer and did not terminate with the "This is a Trial" message.  Problem solved by upgrading.
