Trouble updating ATI Home 11

I have ATI Home 11 version 8053 installed on 3 computers, 1 vista and 2 win 7 / 64.
I have tried to update to version 8101 on the 2 win 7 computers a couple of times however the installations starts, when it gets to the end it rolls back after encountering a problem.
On the 3rd attempt I got one of them to work. But am reluctant to try the other again due to it crashing last time.
Is the 8101 update necessary?
Also can I expect any issues using ATI home 11 with win 7 / 64?
I did upgrade to 2014 but didn't like it so have gone back to ATI home 11.
