[True Image 10][windows XP SP3] Acronis has failed to restore but keeps requesting to reboot

Thread needs solution

Hi all,

I have installed using Acronis True Image Home 10 in XP Sp3 for years but I have never tried it to restore, because, my PC's OS has been working fine, no malmare detected, and has never been infected by any viruses. Yet, I keep backing up my PC's system at monthly intervals.

Here is the situation:

Yesterday, I was trying to install MS Office 2010 but I mistakenly chose to let MS Office 2010 overwrite my previous version of MS Office. Since I could not find my old MS Office discs, I decided to try Acronis True Image to restore my system back to October's.

Everything went well, Acronis helped me step by step until it aksed me to reboot my Windows XP.

Ok then, I restarted my Windows. And then I could see a message from Acronis, saying something was loading, please wait...

Ok, I waited for a few seconds and then I saw some small square dots appeared and flashed past.

And then nothing happened but I saw my Windows rebooted and then I saw the Desktop after a minute. I checked to see that Acronis did not have restored my Windows back to October's.

I kept trying it a few times but Acronis just did not help me out.

Could some experts help me please?

Thank you.

Kitty

You best option is make a bootbale CD from within TI. Then boot from that CD and do the restore from it.
