True Image 11 - Fails to read from ESATA - external hard drive

Thread needs solution

Back up on ESATA connected external Hard Drive - Lacie d2 Quadra 1TB. Using Boot Media, latest version. Back up is carried out - fails every time to read from disk at the very start of Validation of the backup. Have used chkdsk /r on the disk. Have done a complete low level format. Still fails to read at the very start of any archive Validation process. Backups to SATA INTERNAL hard drive validates ok.

Disconnected this external drive from ESATA and reconnected it USB 2 - Carried out backup in an indentical manner - Validation was fine. TI 11 seems to have a problem with ESATA hard drives - any suggestions?

I tend to do my backups outside of Windows and the ESATA is obviously very much faster than USB 2. I dont want to have to go back to USB 2 just because ACRONIS can't handle it. Any help with a fix would be appreciated.

Dear Sharkbite,

Thanks a lot for finding time to open the thread and report about the issue, I will gladly assist you.

I've checked all our internal database: there are no known issue with eSATA, so the situation requires investigation. Could you please gather Acronis Info, submit a case with the information attached, and let us know it's number.

Should you need anything else or have any further questions - feel free to contact us at your earliest convenience, we will be happy to help you!

Thank you!

Sharkbite,
Another alternative you can try is to download the alternate Rescue CD from your Acronis Registration page. This download is titled "Bootable media" and once downloaded, it must be burnt to a blank CD as an image.
