True Image 11 quit working?
I've had this program on my Win7x64 install since, well, 2011 and it never gave me any problem until 08/30. I tried to get into the main page to select and restore a couple FF Mozilla files and the page kept giving a "program not responding" error. My backups were all there and appear to be OK. I uninstalled/reinstalled and got the same result except I was able to add and access the boot key (F11). I then restored my entire "C" partition from 2 days prior hoping that TI-11 would be working. No such luck! Does this program have a hard expiration code that kills it?
I also own TI-16 (which I absolutely hate) so I put that on yesterday. At least I can access the main page and it all seems functional. It was supposed to do a b/u at midnight but there's no new TIB in my drive. Also when trying to install the boot key, I get an error because I have a bitlocker partition even though the boot partition is not encrypted. WTF?
Bottom line is, I need to get 2011 working or buy something different...

Steve, thanks for the reply!
Without reinstalling it, this is all from the left-click properties tab
Acronis True Image Home 2011 Installation Package:
Revision number: {391A4C80-5AE9-41AF-A1C0-B136AF677B28}
File: AcronisTrueImage.msi
CRC-32: 262fc45e
MD4: cee962691daf2bb9bbe9d2f442e5721a
MD5: 4033c1e275ae610531fc7effff49d0f3
SHA-1: 043eb659e0129fd7f9ec5d014f8412bf7a850e0
I also have the "Power Pack" for this version which was also uninstalled when the program quit working.
I do have the option of opening the TIB files for viewing, did not know they could be accessed though, good info.
As far as it "barfing", there were no recent changes to my 'puter (Acer Aspire E1-731 laptop). It was Win10 from the factory, but I went to extra lengths to buy one that could be "downgraded" to Win7 and did so. It just decided to no longer load. I've un/re installed it a couple times with no luck, including removing all leftover Acronis folders and references in the registry.
As far as the 2016 flavor, I did find the scheduled backups in a different folder. That's fixed. I don't know why the beautiful and easy to access interface from 2011 was so radically changed. It looks like a 10 year old child designed it, very hard to find things if they even exist. I do also have AcronisTrueImage2016_addons.exe, and AcronisUniversalRestore_39006_en-US.msi which I have not installed yet. Still hoping to get my 2011 back up and running,
As far as the bitlocker, it's on a partition that's not even in my backup scheme. I can see F11 not working for a boot partition, but other than that? The F11 worked fine from 2011 even with the bitlocked partition.
Thanks!

Russ, I am not sure that you have the final build version of ATI 2011 from looking at the MD5 information though this could be if you have a different language version of the installer.
The information I see when I look at the final installer for 2011 is as shown below.
With regard to the GUI design changes for ATI 2016 and later, that is the way Acronis have decided to go and while it takes a bit of getting used to if users are coming from an earlier version with the original design, for new users, it is intended to be easier / more intuitive to use.
For myself, I am very happy to use the new design and have been using this from ATI 2014 and each version since then up to the current 2020 application.

Mine is the standard US version AFAIK. I went to Acronis' update site and found this:
It looks like neither of us have the latest version? Short of reinstalling, I don't know of a good way to find the version. Maybe I'll try this just to rule it (in or) out. Pretty sure nothing's gonna resurrect my 2011 since zero changes were made to the machine...

Russ, if you have ATI 11.0 as circled above then that is much older than the 2011 version - it came before ATI 2009 and didn't support beyond XP.

I don't know any of the differences between flavors of 2011, guess I'll have to reinstall it just to see what version it actually is. My purchase date was 05/13/2011 and it was the newest version available at that time. At least I hope I wasn't buying something already 3 years old! The pic is the Acronis stuff I've bought over the years.
Still, nothing explains why it suddenly locked up after successfully working for 6+ years on several Win7 machines, this current one for 2 years. I was very comfortable with this version, having been through all phases of hard drive failures, cloning, etc with it. At 66, I really don't want to learn a new program. Even 2016 is very different...
Russ
Edit:
I went back to the Acronis versions DL page, I'd apparently scrolled too far down and got a pic of the wrong version. I have since DL'ed to version you show and will try that. I do remember upgrading online a couple times to my "final" version, which is probably why my install file and checksums do not match. Man, the naming conventions on these programs is as horrible as the new interface!

Russ, Acronis started out with simple version numbers, i.e. 6,7, etc up to 11, then decided that it wasn't going to work in the longer term, so switched over after 11 to 2009, 2010, etc continuing to 2020 for the latest version released on August 20th.
Internally, the version numbers continued when viewed in the log files!

Well, I had limited success today. I finally got my copy of v11 to load and operate. Other problems now preclude normal operations, as Explorer no longer recognizes my WD Passport external HDD, nor does it show my "D:" partition correctly. This is big, because all my backups are on the Passport. The "D" partition shows to be there, but has no label and is inaccessible. Rebooting into a Linux partition program shows everything to be normal, so Win GUI has a problem.
So...ditched v11 again for v16, decrypted my bitlocked drive, and installed the F11 boot key. I could not find any way to combine my incremental backups into one file in v16, is this even possible? It could be done in v11.
I'd love to reboot into the recovery screen (F11) and reload an older v11 backup from when it worked, but am not even sure v16 will read or restore my older v11 backups. Any ideas?

The ability to consolidate .tib files was lost many releases back and is unlikely to be brought back as far as I understand.
The backup archive compatibility document linked in my signature only has the following for ATI 2016.
Acronis True Image 2016, Acronis True Image Cloud (Release 2016)
on Windowsbackups of Windows computers created with:
Acronis True Image 2016, Acronis True Image Cloud (Release 2016)
Acronis True Image 2015
Acronis True Image 2014
True Image 2013 by Acronis
In essence, this just says what Acronis has tested, not that backups from earlier versions would or wouldn't work!
I would recommend booting from the ATI 11.0 Rescue Media CD rather than going for the F11 route if you want to try restoring an older backup image. You should be able to download an ISO file for the TI 11.0 rescue CD from your Acronis Account if you don't have one around.

Is this pic what I want?. It was under downloads in my acct, other than that all I have is the two versions (v16 & v11) plus v11 addons. Neither of these are ISO files, just EXEs. I think I already have these and I don't see anything else under v11.
I may try and load v11 again since my "G:" partition is now decrypted, maybe that was stopping it from working correctly. I did do the encrypt over a year ago, but haven't tried reinstalling the program with it active.
If that doesn't work, I can always reformat my Windows partition, load v11 from scratch, and rewrite the image back to "C:". I've done it before but it takes a long time...

Russ, your image just shows the ATI 2011 installation media download option, you need to be looking at the Rescue Media download instead.

Steve, it's all moot now. Reinstalling v11 with no bitlocker on any partitions seemed to do the trick. All drives are back to normal, the program loads fine and finds all my previous backups. I installed the F11 key, and made a bootable rescue iso (which I'd never though to do until now). I guess since BL wasn't part of Windows back then there's no mention of potential compatibility issues. Since you'd previously mentioned the problem in v16, it was worth a try. And did the trick!
Thanks much!

Russ, glad to read that you have got back to how you want things to be. BitLocker was most likely introduced after ATI 2011 and the Acronis KB document about this only mentions as far back as ATI 2016.

I think there is a lot to be said for using older version of Acronis especially if you want to do straight forward things like backing up full drives only, no incremental backups.
I am on windows 10 64 bit and I have uninstalled Acronis TI2018 really hated it, didn't like the GUI, I just found it a total PITA to be honest and would boot into window 7(dual boot) so as to use ATI 2010 there. It wasn't that I didn't spend enough time on it either to get to know it, I really did.
Anyways uninstalled ATI 2018 on windows 10 and installed the release version of ATI 2010, for some reason or other later versions of that year don't work.
Anyways it is backing up as I write this from within windows 10 itself.
If Acronis was to somehow go back to the simplicity of earlier version such as ATI 2010 then I feel I could support them again by buying the software, but just feel that Acronis has somehow lost its way.
Good to hear you got it working again Russ. A big hello to you too Steve for all the help you have given me in the past.
:)
