True Image 2008 and 2009 Home --> wrong name of folder in backup

Thread needs solution

i just did a full backup of my computer (Vista Home Premium 64bit, latest updates) using true image 2008 home, latest build. on partion c: are vista, progs. and so on; on partition d: is only one folder called DIGITAL IMAGING with several subfolders in it. no error messages during backup and the following check data integrety. after backup was finished i took a look at the saved acronis-backup file --> the folder DIGITAL IMAGING is renamed to PICTURES in backup, but the files in it are ok. the name of the source folder on d: is still DIGITAL IMAGING. the folder DIGITAL IMAGING has its name since i created it.

does anybody have an idea what happend?! thank you for help!!

Hello Carsten,

Thank you for using [[http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/ | Acronis Products]]

Can you please clarify the issue? What folder has changed its name and what is the name of the folder? Can image be validation successfully?

hello,
i think i know what is happend.

the name of the source folder is DIGITAL IMAGING. in its discription the network name is PICTURES. so TI 2008 and 2009 shows the network name in the backup file, not the real local name.

issue of TI or not?

i think TI should show the real folder name DIGITAL IMAGING. i dont know what happens when i do a restore, i think TI restores folder name PICTURES. but that is not what i want.

best regards carsten

hello,
i just finished backup using TI 2009. no error messages, image validation successfully.

TI 2009 acts exactly like TI 2008.

If local folder name and network folder name are different --> network folder name is shown in TI backup file.

best regards carsten

***UPDATE***

i created a new folder where both names, local and network, are the same. i moved data to it. than i deleted folder with the two different names and had a look to the recycled bin --> the displayed name in the bin is PICTURE now. i undeleted the folder --> both names have changed to PICTURE.

So i think its NOT an issue of TI, Vista caused this problem.

best regards carsten
