True Image 2009 (9809) & likely all TI Home 2010 -WEBROOT Sweeper (w/wo AV) VERSIONS 2011 just released!

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I'm a VERY long time user of TI from V7x thru 2011xxx. I also use WEBROOT SpySweeper or WEBROOT AV-SPYSWEEPER on many of our company PCs. Webroot SS has proven very good indetecting a removing all shorts of spyware, BOTs etc. Plus (until just this week or so) I've had ZERO issues having boot (TI xx) and WEBROOT SS up to and includinh ALL version thru V6.1.0.145 (which as far as I can know, is the FINAL release of Spysweeper BEFORE they moved to the so-called "2011 Products-see their website...).

Let me say that a related issue is that WEBROOT licenses products for a set-time period whic is locked to a serial... and as long as your license key (embedded in the installation is still valid, UNLIKE ACRONIS, when any update (be it a AV signature or even a major PRODUCT -CODE update is more or less just downloaded and installed with little to no userinput. (Next you'll see why this is PART OF) a REALLY big issue related to True Image!

Again, until the last week on July 2010 when webroot moved to Versions 2010 (aka shows as V7.x (eg 7.0.4.83 which is the current version), SPYSWEEP and True Image played together with ZERO issues.

===> Here come the trouble. Upon release of versions "2011" (for Sweeper that's V7.xxxxxx the installation on a PC with True Image goes "well" as expected. In fact, running backup full/partial ALSO DOES not bring any errors to the surface.

The trouble shows up 100% of the time during any:
1. True Image backup VERIFICATION or if the user wants to MOUNT AN IMAGE already made..including any already-made BEFORE WEBROOT Spysweeper after V6.xxx (aka Ver 2011) was installed.

2. So what happens, (as an exam[le) a user wants to MOUNT any True Image backup as we all love, say so one or more individual files can be accessed without RESTORING an entire PC/drive etc.

3. Ok, This process begins normally, and the "normal" True Image "Ssigning ;etters to partitions... box appears...

4. HOWEVER, this box NEVER clears up and it's is impossible to halt True Image...even using Task Manager! It actually may be necessary to Remove AC power from the PC!.

5. A non-working WORKAROUND!!! Google this or very similar issues, (but True Image was not mentioned)...it was suggested that the "Mounting Partitions in READ-WRITE mode box be Checked-off" in the Summary screen of the MOUNT Wizard.

#: This may sometimes work...BUT I have determined multiple times, that if the exsisting TIB full backup file came from a DELL PC (XP base) which normally includes a SERVIVE partition, then a VERY odd thing happens...(1) partition is mounted, but when subsequent partitions mount; *.. ACTUALLY WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER IS is loaded and launched and then lists ANY MP3 files that might have been included in the originally backed up TIB file (partition). This (paragraph "#" is UNRELATED to the SpySweeper issues!

I hope one of the Acronis Techs (or techies here) will read this and let's see if the issue with SpySweeper V2011 (=V7x) can be solved. I'm not sure if it's an Acronis bug or a WEBROOT cause. I opnly know, True Image worked fine for every version of TI until WEBROOT 2011.

Thx to all

any/all may even private mail me, if desired at pcbind@optonline.net (not my Forum regged email).
