True Image 2009 Error E000101F4
I experienced a problem with my True Image 2009: "Acronis has encountered a problem and needs to close". I decided to download the latest version of True Image 2009 to overcome the mystery error. Having dowloaded and installed the latest version I was asked to reboot my machine. It would not reboot. I had to go back to last known good installation. When I tried to run the latest version of True Image I got the error E000101F4.
I uninstalled the latest version and reinstalled the old version from the CD. This time I was able to reboot windows normally but when i tried to open True Image it gave out the the same error E000101F4 "Unable to initialize the computer".
I am using Windows XP Professional SP3.
Can anyone help?

Colin,
Your idea worked like a charm. I have now got my TI2009 working properly again. Thank you!
One further question. Am I right in thinking that if I attempt to download and install the latest build of TI 2009 I will have the same problem all over again? If this is the case, I am lumbered with obsolete software that I Only bought in March of this year. Just wondering.
Anyway thanks again for your invaluable help.
Eric

You shouldn't because it would seem your install of TI was corrupted.
But the possibility still exists.

Hmm,
I guess I could try but if it goes wrong I could unistall using the utility you linked and reinstall old version. I won't risk it for the moment but maybe when I've got a few hours to spare I may have a go.

I have used Acronis True Image 2009 on my Windows XP PC without any problem but having now changed to a Windows 8 machine, I get the following message.
Error E000101F4. Detected unsupported hard disc drive. Does not support Windows dynamic disks, EZ- Drives etc.
and the programme will not run!
What do I need to do, upgrade to 2014, or just buy a new 2014 programme?
ZJ.
