True Image 2009 "This is not the last volume of the backup archive" after good Image

Thread needs solution

Windows XP Home: Yesterday, i made an Full Image over my mirrored Harddiks (640 GB SATA-HDs) on an external USB-Harddisk. The Image was checked an good. Also i tried to start the PC with the Acronis True Image CD and checked the Image again >> Ok. So i cleared the whole Harddisk and tried to restore my Image. Now i can't start the pc with the CD (i get an error Message, that Linux doesn't work) and if i try to read my image on an other PC, i get the message "This is not the last volume of the backup archive", but i have only one file and had never a second.

What can i do? The Acronis Image is 200 GB and must have all datas inside and there are a lot of unique fotos. What can i do?

When you cleared the hard drives did you make any RAID configuration changes or BIOS setting changes? Either of those may change how Linux detects the hardware (the Full Mode version of TI is Linux-based).

When you tried to access the image on the other computer, were you using the same version and build of TI? Was it in Windows or when booted to the TI CD? If you only tried one way, you could try the other.

Is it possible to reinstall Windows to the original computer (using the original RAID setup), install TI and then try to access the image? It may be able to Mount or Explore it.

Usually, when TI shows that error message on single file images it's because it's not reading it correctly from the drive. This does not necessarily mean that the image is corrupt.

Other options include trying a later build of TI 2009 (if available), the TI 2010 trial version and the Safe Mode (SafeMedia) version of TI.
