True Image 2010 Boot Disk will not see Drives

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I just purchased True Image Home 2010. Neither the Disk that cmae with the software or creating a recover disk will recognise the disk drives in my EliteBook 6930. If I boot to the disk and choose safe mode it will see the volumes but not read anything, if I choose full version the boot will hang on the discovery phase.

I registered the product on Friday and I can not pull down the updates for 2010. My profile still shows no products registered. Will this product work on a HP EliteBook 6930 from a recover disk? I can backup and restore online to VISTA fine, On 11/12 I had a hard disk error, and I had to install VISTA than True Image to do a restore because neither the instal disk or the recovery disk I created worked.

Hello Larry,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help.

According to our database, the serial number is already registered under your account. That's why I suggest you to log in to your account, go to the Registered products and downloads section -> Bootable media. Download the file.

You can find the information on how to download the appropriate ISOLINUX file in this article

ISOLINUX Bootable Media is usually more up to date than the Acronis Loader one. This is due to the fact a new version of Acronis Bootable Media is uploaded to the web site more frequently than regular product updates are released. Please create Acronis Bootable Rescue Media based on ISOLINUX  (See Burning an ISO Image) and check the functionality of the program. If the issue still persists, please let me know about it via Private Message, I will provide you with the instructions on how to collect the necessary information to troubleshoot the issue.

Please let us know the results, we should be sure that the program runs flawless for you.

Please let me know if the provided information is not clear or if you have any other question.

Thank you.

I found that True Image Home Plus Pack needed to have acpi=off in the bootable media startup parameters in order to have all the drives in my system read when creating a boot disk with Acronis Bootable Rescue Media Builder. Both ISOLINUX Bootable Media (with or without Plus Pack) read my drives just fine.

Dear Gary!

Thank you for your valuable and correct comment!

I just wanted to add - maybe this information will be useful for others - that in case you have downloaded an *.iso from the website, created a CD and it still doesn't work, we would advise you to boot with the parameter 2 - this is the one with "acpi=off noapic" and may resolve the issue faced as well.
