True Image 2010 Build 6053 SnapAPI

Thread needs solution

When I was looking at my installed programs in Programs and Feature in Windows 7 naturally Acronis is at the top but down the list of installed programs is SnapAPI Acronis. I installed the SnapAPI drivers to make my version 6053 work which it does now. When the next version comes out how do you update, over the top and uninstall that SnapAPI or uninstall both of them and do a fresh install of Acronis True Image? Anybody else who installed these drivers do you have them separately in your add/remove programs or Programs and Features in Windows 7?

Same situation here....I would remove prior to installation both the Acronis program & SnapAPI 504 when the new version is released, unless Acronis instructed differently....hopes this helps..

Hello all,

Thank you for posting your question, I will be happy to help. Please accept our apologies for the delay with the response.
The main idea is that the SnapAPI drivers installed separately should be of not less build than the built-in SnapAPI module.
To check the build number go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers, make right-click on snapman.sys -> Properties -> Version. The File version string will show you the build number (it should be #486 for build #6053).
Actually, the latest released build of SnapAPI should be implemented for the latest released build of the program. If the build number of the SnapAPI drivers installed separately is lower than the native one, you should uninstall this separate module.
Please do not hesitate to ask additional questions if the provided information is not clear or you need a further assistance.
Thank you.
