True Image 2010 crashes after startup - Win7 64

Thread needs solution

We have a new laptop (Alienware MX11) and I've tried to install TI2010 without success. The app installed fine but when started it will crash after a few seconds (the main screen opens, then the crash). I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling - no luck. Then I tried uninstalling, removing all references to acronis from the registry, then installed our old version (TI2009) - same problem.

I've read through the other similar threads. And we don't have an ipod plugged in.

Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having a very similar/same problem with Windows 7, 64bit and True Image Home 2010. I have an Alienware/Dell M11xR2 (i7 processor,etc.). When I boot with the recovery disk (latest build). The program begins loading, see several of the splash screens, and then the laptop will restart. My guess is the chip set. I have run into this issue with a number of the previous versions of True Image and newer machines. My only "fix" was to request/wait for an updated version that would load and recognize the newer device.

It would be nice if Acronis made these issues easier to report.

Hello all,

Thank you very much for your posts. I will definitely help you.

arzoo,

Do you have any antivirus software? Have you tried disabling it and running the program again? In order for us to resolve this issue, please collect Dr.Watson Crash Dumps, AcronisInfo report and contact our Support team so that we may fix this problem.

Michael,

Thank you for bringing this up. This issue is a little bit different because it occurs with our bootable media. We are aware of this problem with our bootable media rebooting with Dell machines and in a few minutes I will send you a private message with a custom version of ATIH2010 which helps us resolve these issues.

If you need additional help, please let me know.

Thank you.

Anton - thanks for helping. I disabled our security software but that did not solve the problem. I also upgraded TI2010 to the latest build - still crashes. I tried to generate the Dr. Watson dump but when I click on "Generate Dump File" on the process I get an "Access Is Denied" error. I was able to use the AcronisInfo app to generate the report. Guess I need to contact support next.
