True Image 2010 Home Plus Pack and Universal Restore

Thread needs solution

Do I understand correctly that True Image 2010 Home Plus Pack should allow me to switch motherboards without reinstalling Windows?

What are differences (if any) of this capability of Plus Pack and the enterprise version of Universal Restore?

Am I likely to run into any specific problems when using it with an SSD? In particular, given the thread http://forum.acronis.com/forum/3823, can I restore onto an already existing (and properly aligned) partition?

Hello Alexey,

Let me shed some light on your concerns.

  1. Yes, with Acronis True Image Home 2010 Plus Pack allows you to migrate to a different hardware without installing a new OS from scratch. You can find the guide on how to do it at this KB article.
  2. Actually Acronis Plus Pack and Acronis Universal Restore are made for the same purpose, the only difference is that Universal Restore should be used with Enterprise software only whereas Plus Pack is for the Home versions of Acronis products.
  3. Yes, you can restore your image to previously created and aligned partition without any issues.

Please reply to this thread if you have any additional questions.

Thank you.
