True Image 2010 Making full backups instead of incremental

Thread needs solution

As the topic states getting highly frustrated with true image 2010 making a whopping 80gb backup (full) when it only needs to do an incremental running out of ideas please help.

If you allow me to first ask a question, just to be sure, that there is no misunderstandings:

Was the 80gb backup (full) backup file created for the first run of your Backup task? If this is the case: this is normal (the first run of an incremental Backup Task is always a Full Backup).

After being sure, that we understand each other and that it is not about the first run that you complain: I too encountered multiple times this problem (or a similar problem). I do not know why this happened. I had the impression that the problem could have been related to the "cloning" of tasks and/or to changes that I had done (after creating the task) to the task specifications.

In your case: did you also cloned tasks? Or did you modify after creating your task the specifications for automatic consolidation of the problematic task? Or did you changed other specifications for the problematic task?

Meanwhile, II have the impression, that I am closing-in on some problems related to task-cloning that resulted in a lot of waste of my time. I will probably soon describe what I found in a new Thread about "Cloning Problematic".

no this is not the first run of the task it is the third run, a full backup was created (as per design) on the first run, a small incremental file was created on the second run and then it proceeded to make another full backup and no i did not clone the task. there is no automatic consolidation specified.

it is becoming rather tiresome as we all know making backups can take some time before we know there is a problem.

 Hello James,

Have you done any disk defragmentation meanwhile? Also what is the option is used in the task? Like keep N versions of the backup, etc.
