True Image 2010 not able to see backups on external drive

Thread needs solution

I recently upgraded True Image 11 to True Image 2010. I've created a full backup on an external hd. True Image 2010 sees the file, the backup is able to be validated, everything looks fine. If I disconnect my external drive then at some point open acronis the next time I connect the drive it is unable to see the previous backup file. The backup is still there and can be seen with explorer, TI just totally forgets about it and it can not be restored. I had used TI 11 for over a year with no issues and I should have probably tested out 2010 before purchasing it. Is there any ideas of things that I can try to correct this issue? Thanks for all the help.

This may not be what you're looking for and you may have already tried this.

I'm using ATI2009 b9796 and doing FULL backups to an external HD. I have 7 stored there now. If I power down the external HD, then restart the computer (external HD also powers up at this point), ATI does not see any of the 7 images (even though it had before powering down the external HD). However, when I browse for the images within ATI, it finds them. From the main screen > Backup & Restore > Manage & Restore > Browse for Backup.

Not sure if this helps you.

Thanks for the tip. I can at least restore the files now but what I need to do is copy and paste the file names from explorer into acronis. I will be removing 2010 from this computer and use TI 11 at least until some of the issues can be worked out. Thanks again.

Chris,
Did you use the browse option and look for the file inside True Image. Also, the window is a little narrow. The files are off the right. Maybe the file is listed but you need to move the window slider.

Grover,
I did "browse" for the files in True Image. I could see the folder that the back ups were located in...just not the files. If navigated to the external drive using windows explorer I could see the files. I could use explorer to copy the file name then paste that into True Image then the files would show up in recovery center. I have been having a bunch of issues with 2010 version and went ahead and uninstalled it this evening (I should have used the try before you buy option...oh well). True Image 11 seems to work fine on this computer and I am hoping that I can continue to use it after upgrading to Windows 7. Thanks again for answering.
