True Image 2011 (build 6574) hangs on Windows 7 64 bit notebook
HI
I am having a strange issue.
I recently upgraded my True Image Home 2011 application to the most recent build (6574) on a Sony Vaio VPCZ12V9E/X.
I also have an external LaCie 1TB USB drive which I store my backups on.
Prior to the upgrade the application ran quickly and with no issues.
Since the upgrade the application is starting to hang. It eventually resolves itself if I leave for a minute or so. This is true of the first home screen and also in the remaining parts of the application.
In particular, as the application starts up, it locates the LaCie drive and in trying to create a backup file it has trouble locating the LaCie drive as a destination drive. Like I said previously if I leave it for a minute or so it finally sees the drive.
I should also mention that I have previous backups (created by the previous version of true image) stored on the LaCie drive.
What is interesting is when I came into my work office today (the LaCie drive is at home), the application is running quickly without any delay.
So it is obvious to me that the LaCie drive and interface to the True Image 2011 application is creating the issue! Again this is only after the recent upgrade.
I’m not too sure where to go with this?
I would appreciate any suggestions.
Best,
Peter

BTW I just uninstalled it and am in the process of backing up with the Windows 7 image utility.

I have the same problem.
Acronis True Image Home 2011 build 6597 on a Sony Vaio VGN-Z21ZN/X running Windows 7 Ultimate 2011.
The application hangs up continually for one or two minutes whenever I click on a button or input field.
I tried to remove and reinstall the application, without any improvement. I also tried to install the last SnapAPI as suggested in another thread.
Acronis 2010 running on the same hardware with Vista 32bit works well.

Is it Win 7 x64 or x32?
On x64, you can experience serious delays when your computer is connected to a network.
Try to uninstall and then use the Acronis cleanup utility, then reinstall.

Pat,
your diagnosis is correct (I'm using x64).
I removed all the network drives from Windows (although ATH was not using any of them) and the problem disappeared.
I will try the Acronis clean-up utility as soon as I'm able to find it.
I will let you know.
Thanks

I think this is a known bug with 2011 on x64. I don't personally experience it for some reason but many others do.
Try the clean up utility, not guarranteed it will work.
It looks like ATI is insisting on exploring every hard disk when it starts and slows downs everything. If you wait it out, the problem disappear after awhile, from what I understand.
Acronis is aware of the issue.
