True Image 2013 and MYOB

This is a question relating to TI 13 backing up a workstation that also has MYOB (bookkeeping software similar to Reckon or Quickbooks)

The customer is concerned that True Image is somehow affecting the figures in MYOB to the tune of $195,000!

Can True Image do this, and is it wise not to perform backups while the books are being worked on? Is this true for any database and TI 13?
