True Image 2013 - backup 490Gb takes approx. 23 hours. How can I make the performance better?

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have Acronis true image backup 2013 incl. plus package.
When I backup my laptop second hdd 490Gb (whole hdd 500Gb), than it takes approx. 23 hour. At the end it seems that it hangs “Calculated time: less than 1 minute”. This stays for hours, so I cancel the backup process.
I read at the release notes that the message “less than 1 minute” is a bug and that the Acronis is validating the backup.

So I have changed the settings to get a better performance:
• sector by sector: not selected
• validate backup: not selected

But still it takes approx. 20 hours.

Does anybody know how to make the performance better? It can be that I have to change the settings in Acronis or does anybody have an idea to change something in the network/router or NAS?

Network environment:
• Router from Tele 2, internet provider
• Dynamic range configured in the router from 192.168.1.10 to 192.168.1.99
• Static IP configured in the router addresses 192.168.1.1 to 192.168.1.9
• Router/Gateway static IP adres 192.168.1.1; Router is DHCP server
• Two 8 port, 1 Gigabit Sitecom switches in the network
• NAS thecus N4200ECO: static IP address 192.168.1.5. I have also tried 192.168.1.100 (=the default IP address); IP Sharing mode: tried both enabled and disabled; Jumbo Frame tried: disabled, 4000, 9000; NAS is not DHCP server; DNS 1 till DNS 3 are empty; Netmask: 255.255.255.0
• NAS firmware version: 5.03.02
• Backup software from Acronis 2013 incl. the plus package.
• Laptop Toshiba Qosmio X505 18.4" Notebook Computer features 2GHz Intel Core i7-2630QM Quad-Core, 8GB (2x4GB) RAM, 2x 500Gb hdd
• Windows 7 Home
• Bitdefender 2014 Total defender (= virusscanner, firewall, etc)
• Windows firewall
• Host file line added: 192.168.1.5 N4200ECO

With regards,

Nico
