True Image 2013 Build 6514 on Windows 10

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I have TI 2013 on my PC.  I upgraded from Windows 7 to 10 last summer and the weekly backups continued fine so I thought all was well.  I tried to restore a file and I'm unable to read the backup.  I'm getting an incompatibility message for Windows 10.  I went throught the legacy program troubleshooter but that didn't seem to help.  Will I be able to recover any files from these backups or should I upgrade, etc.  Will wait to hear back before taking any action.

Thanks!

Karl, welcome to these user forums.

ATIH 2013 is not supported for use when installed in Windows 10 as documented in KB 56196: Acronis Products: Windows 10 Support which states:

Older versions of Acronis products
Support of Windows 10 will not be implemented into older versions of Acronis products (e.g. Acronis True Image 2014 or older, Acronis Backup & Recovery 11 or older, Acronis Snap Deploy 4 or older), as Acronis development team works on the current versions only. Stable functioning of older products on Windows 10 is not guaranteed.

You should still be able to restore files or folders or a whole disk by using the ATIH 2013 Rescue Media (on CD/DVD or USB) and you can download a CD image file (.ISO) from your Acronis Account Downloads area to burn to CD if needed, otherwise you can try creating this from your installed ATIH 2013 application using the Rescue Media Builder tool.

You should upgrade to a later version of ATIH if you want to continue using ATI on Windows 10 but you also need to be aware of the following KB document: 1689: Backup Archive Compatibility Across Different Product Versions that shows how the later versions handle backups created by earlier versions.
