True Image 2013 Compatability With Windows 8 Storage Spaces

Thread needs solution

Hi I am considering upgrading to Windows 8 and plan on using Storage Spaces. Is True Image 2013 comapactible with Windows 8 Storage Spaces, (including he ability to backfrom and restore to from the recovery disk)?

True Image 2013 can backup files/folders as well as disk/partitions and can perform restores of files/folders and non-live (non-OS partitions) from storage spaces in the Windows based installed program.

To be able to perform hard disk recovery or live OS partition restores you would need to do so from bootable Rescue Media. You would need to purchase the 2013 Plus Pack, as well as create WinPE 4.0 (Windows 8 based) Acronis Rescue Media. WinPE 4.0 based media is the ONLY Acronis Rescue Media that supports Windows 8 Storage Spaces.

Thanks James. Finally can you confirm that the WinPE 4 (Windows 8 based) rescue disk I need can be created from Acronis True Image 2013 with plus pack i.e. the rescue media builder option? Does the rescue disk need to be created from a Windows 8 Machine? Thanks again for your help.

The WinPE 4.0 Rescue Media can be created using the Acronis WinPE ISO Builder (part of the Plus Pack) as part of the process. The standard Acronis Rescue Media Builder creates a Linux based version.

The WinPE 4.0 based Acronis Rescue Media that you can create is not officially supported by Acronis.

There are two posts here on the Forums that can help with building a WinPE 4.0 based Acronis Rescue Media:
