True Image 2013 Plus... deleting backup (4 Hours & Counting) Failed to Open Backup, Make sure the backup location is accessible.
windows 7, backing up over home network to server 2008 R2, was working fine for over a year, and then i received this error, so i went to server deleted all backups, then went to Acronis and removed the job, then i re-added, and ran a backup... at 2:00 minutes left i received this error, and Acronis stated there were 17 versions, even though prior to running it stated no backups done. is there a registry setting or something i must do after removing backup so it starts fresh? I've chosen delete WHOLE backup (backups and Settings.. and it's been running for 3 hours?!
Here is the error i was given (See attachment)
Any ideas what's going on?
Thanks in advance!

Joe,
You probably have left over data in the TIH database that was not deleted if you deleted all of your current backups.
I am not positive of this so proceed with caution or ask others....
BUT... I had the same problem with left over data in the TIH database some time ago... and was instructed to RENAME it and start over...
Here is the location on a Win8.1 system....
C: ProgramData Acronis TrueImageHome Database
The database is named archives.xml
I renamed it to archives_OLD.xml and my problems went away.
TIH will create a new archives file if it does not find one.
Hope this is accurate and helps you.

thanks for reply Steve.. is it ok to just delete all the archives? instead of renaming?
thank you
P.S. 3 of the 4 other pc's seem to be working fine.

Joe,
Personally, I would rename the file with the "_old" after the filename, not the extension.
If things go haywire, you can always rename the file back to the original.

ok thanks Steve.
One last question if i may...how does one get notified of replies here? i consider myself quite savvy with forums, but i've never received email notifications of replies here (acronis forums) i have to constantly either leave the acronis tab open and refresh, or log back in and search for my posts to see if someone has replied?
one usually goes to user control panel to enable instant notifications, but not having any luck.
Also at the bottom of this rpely it states notify me when new comments are posted...but i never receive notifications.
Not in junk/spam wither.
thank you

Happy that worked for you....
I use the "Notify me when new comments are posted" at the bottom of the post area and receive emails whenever anyone posts to the thread. I think it is important that your login email be the one you are checking for replies...
It works for me...
