True Image 2014 in "calculating" loop forever on Win8.1 latest update
Win8.1 (64b) latest update applied. Backups were working fine, but in the last few days, a C-Drive full backup keeps failing. Issue is that the backup jobs are stuck in "calculating" mode. Created new backup jobs and same issue. Scheduled and interactive jobs fail the same way.
Target drive is USB3. May be coincidence, but the latest Win 8.1 update included some fixes for USB3 issues. Build 6614 (latest available version)
Ran chkdsk and source / target drives are fine.

Windows 8.1, Acronis True Image 2015. I had similar issues backing up to a network share. The UI stuck at "Calculating Time Remaining" overnight. It didn't actually do anything until I told Windows to reboot, which responded with the spinning circle on the "Shutting Down" screen and a message to the effect of "Processes are running. PC will shut down when they complete."

That's interesting. So the problem wasn't fixed in 2014 and now it is in 2015. I'm glad you mentioned that because I was going to purchase Acronis True Image 2015 in the hopes that this problem would be rectified. I'm not going to spend the money only to have the same problem I have now. Thanks for posting this.

I have the same problem, latest version of Acronis 2015, windows 8,1. Acronis hangs on "Calculating time remaining". After a re-boot it continues with "calculating time remaining" Attempting to stop the backup does nothing. This has to be some of the worst backup software I have ever seen.
I've used Acronis products for a long time, this version is worthless and I will be removing it and purchasing something else.

Still no reply from Acronis about this? I have the same problem and am about to delete Acronis 2015 and demand a refund.

The lack of response by Acronis is incredible. I just had the same problem. I have TI 2015 on my Surface Pro 3 with an external drive for backup. Have had TI for years and do not cease to recommend it. However, I will never recommend this product again.
When I open my software it immediately goes into backup mode, trying to backup to my external hard disk. AFter a long time, it is still calculating backup time and nothing happens. I cannot stop the process even though I hit the button several times. I have to stop the software altogether by hitting ctl alt del and stopping the process but when I open the program again it automatically returns to the backup it had not completed, and again it hangs on calculating time of backup.
I disconnected the external hard disk and tried running the software, hoping that in not finding an external hard disk it would stop the process. Wrong. Still in the loop. Tried to add another backup process. Will not recognize the external hard disk. In the list of backups found the original backup and tried stopping the process any which way I can. Nothing happens still in the loop of calculating time.
Will anyone at Acronis respond to this issue?????

Same problem on Win7 64. Ridiculous that there are no answers.

I managed to kill the backup by taking the destination drive offline and rebooting. Then I edited the hanging backup but didn't make any changes and then saved it. Then I restarted the backup and it is working.

I have also the same problem with Acronis True Image 2015 and had the same issue with 2014 before. Backup are like stuck because there's missing file or something. I was on win 8.1 before and now on win 10.
Every time clicking stop doing nothing. If at least there were a section to see the log otherr than going in event viewer to see the error.
