True Image 2014 Compatibility With Truecrypt
I've found a number of compatibility messages about older versions of TI, but nothing on 2014. Does anyone know if the two are compatible and to what degree.
My use of Truecrypt will be to fully encrypt the drives on my desktop and notebook.
For my desktop, it appears that TI and TC should work okay for basic backups. But I'd love to hear this from someone that's actually using it. And any "gotchas" would be greatly appreciated.
Right now I do a full backup weekly with incremental BUs during the week. In addition to the weekly BU I run a full BU every month. These backups are set up to run automatically.
On my notebook, I generally do not run backups. All of my data exists in multiple places (desktop, notebook, file server, ATI backups w/ historical files). So when I travel I make a clone of my notebook HD and keep that in the safe. I have a little program (Beyond Compare) that allows me to quickly update the data folder on my clone drive. So the question is, can I still clone a drive that's been encrypted with Truecrypt?
I'm hoping that since Truecrypt is open source and appears to be a very popular choice that there's been some real improvements on Acronis' part since the old KB articles I've read and I can still clone my drive.
So any thoughts on my intended use of Truecrypt, or suggestion of a different product that will do what I want with TI 2014, would be greatly appreciated.
NOTE TO ACRONIS: Sure which you guys would finally get around to fixing TI so that you can sync to a local drive vs. ONLY the cloud. A lot of my clients can not legally sync to the cloud (certainly not Acronis' cloud) but would like to sync to a local drive. I'd like to do the same thing and continue putting my BU drive in the hotel safe when I leave. Any chance you'll finally smell the roses and get this working?
