True Image 2014 Install Error

Thread needs solution

Hello and thanks in advance for any replies.

I had True Image 2014 installed on a computer.  Upon boot, I would get a True Image Monitor .exe error.  From an WIN 8.1 adminstrator account, I uninstalled the program and ran the Arconis clean up utility.  During reinstall of the program from the same WIN 8.1 adminstrator account, I got a fatal error during installation.  Error writing to file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Acronis\Home\icu38.dll.  Verify that you have access to that directory.  I tried the same process in safe mode, but got the same error.  I searched the forum and knowledge Base, but got no applicable hits.  Have attached the install error, but the install log is too big (> 15MB).  Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mark

Hi Mark,

After running the uninstall and clean up utility, you must reboot to ensure any files/services in use by the OS can be safely removed befor attemptong to reinstall.

This error appears to be related to an Acronis system service.  Are you using the latest build of 2014 for install?  If not, please doewnload this from your Acronis User Acct and attempt a clean install using it after running the clean up utility.

Hello, Shadowsports!

Sorry for not clearly mentioning in my original post, but I did reboot after uninstalling and running the cleanup utility.  For the install, I ran my original TI 2014 DVD, but selected the install updated version which should have retrieved the latest build as you suggested.  I did zip and attach my install log file if that helps.  Thanks, Mark

Hi, Shadowsports.

Sorry for not being clearer in my original post, but I did reboot after uninstalling and running the cleanup utility.  I ran my original TI2014 DVD, but selected install the updated version which I presumed would retrieve the latest build as you suggested.  I have zipped my install log and attempted to attach if the spam filter allows me to do so.  Thanks for your reply.  I hope this additional information helps lead to a solution!
