True Image 2014 - Restore on Widows 11

Thread needs solution

Hi.

I have some data I want to restore in a backup created by True Image 2014.

I'm unable to install True Image 2014 on Windows 11. So I thought I would just use a USB flash drive to restore it. I have downloaded the ISO, but Rufus says it does not support this ISO. The Tool ISO to USB does not find my flash drive. So I have no idea to run True Image 2014 on a flash drive. I have also tried to install the WinPE media builder, but I cannot install this because it requires True Image 2014 to be installed.

Do you have any suggestions how to recover some data in a True Image 2014 backup? The only way I can come up with now is installing Windows 10 on another drive.

Robert, welcome to these public User Forums.

Assuming that you just want to restore some files / folders (not programs or associated data) then you can do this with any later version of Acronis on Win 11 by using the integration with the Windows shell and just double-clicking on the ATI 2014 backup image .tib file in Explorer then using normal Copy & Paste controls to grab the data.

You would only need to boot from an Acronis rescue media USB stick or DVD if you were wanting to restore a disk or partition from the backup which doesn't sound likely when you have Win 11 already.

See KB 65547: Acronis True Image 2021: how to restore files from a backup (Windows) and scroll down the page to 'How to restore files in File Explorer' which you should find easier to use if only wanting to recover some files, allowing you to use normal Copy & Paste commands.
