True Image 2015 doesn't update install, repair and uninstal

Thread needs solution

Hello,
when updating to the newer version of True Image 2015 I get the following error:
Translated:
"Unrecoverable error,
Previous Acronis product Acronis True Image 2015 (18.0.6525) has not been removed completely. Before proceeding, please run Cleanup Utility. See details at: http://kb.acronis.com/content/34876"

Then when I try to run the Cleanup Utility the repair is missing. When clicking the uninstall button it also gives an error that the system cannot find a specific file.

Help!!!! I cannot update, uninstall to do a clean install.

Kind regards Wouter

You can try to use a third party uninstaller tool like Revo. Don't use aggressive settings in that tool before you know you have to try those.

Download the cleanup utiity again for a retry. Read the instructions for using the utility. There is registry edits required.
The utilty does not have a repair option. The utility removes all ACronis products.

I am on Windows 10 Pro. Acronis 2015 is installed and says there is an upgrade, but the upgrade fails immediately.
I have downloaded the Cleanup tool and restarted it TWICE. It fails immediately, saying "wrong OS version" on a big red screen! I cannot proceed to the registry edit. I have tried to run it in Windows 7 and in Windows 8.1 compatibility mode. Same failure.
I tried to use the Windows Uninstaller Fixit, but it does not support Windows 10.

Any other ideas?

Yes. see post above. Third party tools can do a decent job at cleaning up stuff. Try Revo uninstaller.

Thanks! with the cleanup utility and the instructions that go with it, the problem is solved!
Thanks all.
Kind regards,
Wouter

It worked for me too. I deleted ALL the registry keys and other leftovers, then installed the 2015 upgrade. It remembered my custom settings somehow.
NOTE: the 1st time I ran the upgrade, it failed with "file not found",
-but I went to the options,
-set the backup scheme to default instead of custom(BUT DID NOT SAVE IT THAT WAY),
-canceled the options (thus returning to my custom settings)
-went back to the Acronis main menu and ran it a 2nd time and it worked perfectly.
