True Image 2015 DVD to USB

Thread needs solution

Greetings:

I have Acronis True Image 2015 on a bootable DVD. I would prefer to use it from a bootable USB flash drive. So far I've not found a way to create that USB flash drive with True Image on it. Not looking to create rescue  media with a back up on it, just a bootable USB to run the program.

Thanks for any help,

SD

Stump Digger, welcome to these public User Forums.

The only bootable method of using ATI (any version) is either have an original DVD which doubled as both installation media and rescue media, or else you need to create rescue media.

See KB 48338: Acronis True Image 2015: Creating Acronis Bootable Media for guidance.

The only other option, assuming that you have registered your ATI 2015 license serial to your Acronis Account is to download an .ISO of the rescue media from there, then use a tool such as Rufus to convert the .ISO image to a USB stick.  Note: the USB stick should be less than 32GB in size.

Thank you for the reply Steve. I have not linked my License Serial # yet so there is that I can try.

I did create an ISO from the DVD using ImgBurn and from there tried using Rufus to create a bootable USB Flash Drive (16GB). Rufus reported something to the effect that the ISO had a boot format Rufus didn't recognize so it couldn't proceed.

I'll go through the process again and see if I missed something.

Thanks again,

SD
