True Image 2015 locks up PC at 99%

Thread needs solution

Hi,

So I've been using True Image 2014 for several years and it worked great. Yesterday, I got a new PC and so I figured it was time to upgrade, so I purchased True Image 2015.

I set it up to back up my C drive every Saturday morning and tried to perform an initial backup.

It seems to work okay, backing up the C drive to an external USB hard drive, until it got to 99%. At that point, it said "Less than a minute left" and seemed to freeze there. I waited around 20-30 minutes and nothing happened.

I killed it, but immediately after that, the whole machine locked up. All applications, including the Windows Task bar became unresponsive and I had to hard boot the machine.

After the reboot, I decided to just leave it alone and let it try the backup at the scheduled time. But I experienced several more lockups of the entire machine after that seemingly at random even when I wasn't doing anything with True Image. I ran Task Manager and I noticed that even though the scheduled backup time had not yet arrived, the True Image Monitor was running in the background and apparently eating up huge amount of CPU time and hard drive use.

I basically have up and had to uninstall it.

Is there a known problem on Windows 8.1?
Is it possible that True Image 2015 cannot handle a mostly-empty 512GB SSD?
Is there some kind of update I need to do?

Thanks,
Mike

I have the same issue .... I've setup a new PC windows 8.1 and TI 2015 .. backups hang at 99% or so.
Also If I try to open an old backup from a TI2013 ... hangs ..

When it hangs, I can't open any other apps or start task manager to kill the process.

This is very frustrating after years of pretty solid use from early versions.
I uninstalled 2015, tried 2013 (won't install on win8.1) 2014 - hangs as well when trying to open old backups.

Yes, that's exactly what I get, too. Double-clicking an existing backup file hangs the whole machine.
I was thinking about going back to TI2014, but I guess that won't work, either.
